Indo-Scottish Wedding at Achnagairn Castle
Rahee + Adam’s Two-Day Celebration

A relaxed two-day Indo-Scottish wedding at Achnagairn Castle in the Highlands, blending a traditional Hindu ceremony with a personal Humanist celebration over two days.

Some weddings are big. Some are intimate.
Rahee and Adam’s were somehow both.

Their Indo-Scottish Wedding at Achnagairn Castle unfolded over two days, with the Hindu ceremony on day one, followed by their Humanist ceremony on day two. There was a real feeling of closeness amongst the guests despite some of them having never met. Just brilliant.

Hindu Wedding Ceremony

Priest Vaisnava Das led the ceremony beneath the mandap, surrounded by colour, music and a lot of heartfelt emotion.

Rahee wore an incredible red lengha from Kajals Couture (a complete surprise to Adam — his face said everything!) Her henna by Scotland Henna was incredible, as was her hair and makeup by Makeup by Leena.

Dhol and Pipes brought a perfect mix of Punjab and Highlands energy to the castle grounds, and a whisky tasting lead by friends and family in the evening went down a treat.

The Humanist ceremony focused on Rahee + Adam’s story, and halfway through their dog Jugu happily wandered between guests while everyone tried to keep it together.

Then came another surprise for Adam. Rahee is part of an acappella group who have a tradition of singing at each other’s weddings. Adam had been told she wouldn’t be performing at her own – he believed it.

Her friends gathered during the speeches and began an incredible arrangement of Tum Se Hi woven into Loch Lomond. It caught him completely off guard, and honestly most of the room too, us included. One of those moments that stays with you for sure!

Why Achnagairn Castle Works for Fusion Weddings

Achnagairn Castle handled both days effortlessly — big enough for a full Hindu ceremony, relaxed enough for a personal Humanist wedding the next day. Nothing felt staged, just layered.

From sacred rituals to surprise singing to a roaming dog, this Indo-Scottish Wedding at Achnagairn Castle felt exactly how fusion weddings should — not a performance, just people bringing their lives together. We’re so glad they chose us as their wedding photographers.
